Cutting across geographical, social & cross-cultural barriers Cinemas of India is engineered to act as a carrier of Indian cinema in the global culture of film. The campaign aims to encourage an audience for deserving Indian films, parents emerging talent in India, builds an international showcase for these filmmakers in major festivals & markets and promotes India as a potential filming destination for the stories of the world.

Cinemas of India endorses deserving regional, independent & art house cinema to facilitate a broader exchange between the international film community & the Indian film Industry. The campaign has consistently built a promising climate for Indian cinema beginning with the India Pavilion at the Marche Du Cannes (Cannes Film Festival) in 2011. NFDC has been actively promoting India at Toronto International Film Festival (Canada), MIPCOM (Cannes), American Film Market (Santa Monica) and the European Film Market (Berlin).
